I haven't ever done this before. I have just really "holding it together" on my own ever since the start of this whole mess in 2011 and then one day I thought that there has to be a support group for mothers like me, so here I am. I haven't really had a chance make my page yet but I am looking forward to it.
Yes I do believe that it is a 3 strike state although but they don't always stick by that. I know someone who had been in for 5 times now for robery and he only got 5 years with parole after 2!
Yeah but any time I have ever brought it up to any of the attorneys involved, they act like "well that is what happens when you run from the police"! My response is that that doesn't give them the right be become Judge, jury and executioner! That is what we have the legal system for! They act like it is no big deal that they beat the crap out of him to the point of almost near death!
They also gave him a DWI that night for "failing the sobriety check" but he wasn't drinking, they never gave him a sobriety check and even if they would have, he was having a cardiac event, so he couldn't pass a test even if they would have made him take one!
My son has not made the best decisions in the world but he is not a bad person, he just needs to learn better decision making skills! That doesn't always come along so easily when a person has ADD! Scared for him and for his 3 kids!!
I initially started thinking about trying to start a support group, even though I have never done that before either but then I thought I would google to see if any already existed and then I came across a couple of different ones but didn't seem to have very many active members but then I finally found this one! It seems great! My son has trial coming up on the 23rd of this month and he is looking at 22 years! Jeez you would think that he killed someone or something but no he was driving home on a suspended license and happen to pass a bad cop with a history of causing chases! Well he picked the right person to pull over because my son totally freaked out and took off and there the chase started! He mainly freaked because he knew the cop and had a bad history with him because while my son and his wife were separated, she dated the same cop but then ended it with him to try to work things out with my son and apparently that cop didn't take it very well because when he caught him, he beat the whole crap out of my son, I believe he was trying to kill him! My son has a heart condition and after the cop beat him to unconsciousness, he tazed him twice to bring him to and when he did, it sent my son into a cardiac "event". Yeah it is a big mess!
