My sons plea bargain

My sons discovery came with his plea bargain in it.5 years 85%.I'm sad but, grateful that he did not get the .ax 10 years. This process is happening and I don't think I'm ready for.Ready or not it will keep moving forward. It was a relief to finally talk to my son about the reality of his prison time.I had such anxiety because I thought he was in denial. This process has so many different steps that prepare you for what's ahead.I am sad that this all happened but I truly believe that GOD saved my son from a life of destruction and crime. As much as this tears us all apart I know that my son will be a better young man when he gets out.He will still be young and have time to become successful. This situation has made my relationship closer to God . Everything has a purpose. As hurt as I am I have accepted that my son committed a crime and he has to pay the consequences.Even though I disagree will mandatory minimum sentences.I plan on participating with FAMM.This experience has allowed to want to help our youth.I am asking that God gives my son some peace and allows him to stay safe.

  • Your welcome Angie, Hang in there God bless you and your son also
  • What is FAMM?
  • I am in Pa, so I cannot answer regarding Huntsville, but my son was sentenced 4-8, as a non violent, no there involved crimes, due to his drug use. He and I were a little shocked at the length of time. The judge also had warned my son about ending up here. The same judge also claimed he could get more programs at state level to deal with his issues. Well it's been 5 months 3 prisons later, still no programs. I will say my son is doing great, and just hoping that his programs start soon. Because they must be completed before release. He has gotten involved with reading, which he always hated., but now enjoying. He writes a lot which I think is like journaling for him. He plays softball, and is involved in bible studies. Make sure your son, gets involved in whatever he can. Makes the time pass, and leaves less time to get in trouble. Will keep him in my prayers.
  • Your story is mine. I prayed so often, that God would deliver Michael from his addiction, and the destructive path he was on. State prison, was not on my radar, but I do not question, God is in control. Michael has grown up ten fold in the past 5 months. His letters are amazing, and the transformation he is going through is amazing. Tell your son to take advantage of whatever he can. My son is keeping busy, playing ball, bible studies, reading, while waiting for his programs to start. Prayers to you and your son
