Ideas on mail?

Still getting used to my son being incarcerated. It's been almost 3 weeks...I miss him terribly but am so thankful I get to talk to him every day. I'm trying to figure out interesting things to send him. They hardly have any books where he's at. Ideas?

  • Olga, you really need to check with the facility that he is in about what mail he is allowed to receive.  Usually at the county, they are not allowed to receive books except a Bible (or another religion's holy book) and perhaps an English/"other language" translation dictionary - and they must be soft covered.  Some may allow you so send printed puzzles.  There are many restrictions like no stickers, glitter, extra embellishments, pop-ups or anything that plays music, sings, records, etc.  Call the facility mail room or property department and ask them what is permissible.  Hope this helps.
