I Need HELP - I'm lost

My son just called me crying... again... he is not doing good.... he has put in several requests for mental health just to be ignored.

As I mentioned, he is 19 years old and is Bipolar. He also suffers from cycling of severe depression and is having a breakdown as I write this. He is suicidal at this moment and needs to see Mental Health Immediately. He has filed the proper paperwork needed and everytime that he try's to go to Medicine call they tell him they have nothing for him.

He was promised by Gordon County Jail that once he was put into his Administration setting, that he would be able to start getting on his proper cycle for medication. This is not happening. To add to his illness, he is getting assaulted by inmates. Since he has been at the GADP he has been attacked 4 times that I have been aware of. He has only been there since the 3rd of July.

I really need someone to intervene and remove him from the location he is in and also get him the proper medical attention he needs. He has told me if the weekend comes, he may not be here whether it's by his own hand or someone else. GADP will be held responsible.

I have already left a message and emailed the Obudsman and also contacted the Southern Center for Human Rights.  I am at a loss of what else I can do.... please anyone with suggestions, it will be great.  My son has attempted suicide in the past.... he was begging me for help.  I'm lost...

  • Never ever underestimate A MOMA BEAR YOU GO GIRL !!!!!
  • Warden's office just called me back.  They have moved my son and also put him in what is called the "C" House which is their Medical Center.  He is now in a safer environment and also is scheduled to see a Mental Health Counselor Monday and they have started him on his meds.  He is not sure why that my son was not allowed to go to pill call.  That was the issue... when pill call was happening the guards would NOT allow him to go telling him they had nothing for him.  This, the warden's office, said really concerns them and this should not have been happening.  They are investigating this.  I am not sure if the SCHR had something to do with him being moved as well... but in any case, my complaint was heard and they did move him and he will now start getting his proper medication.  Praise God!

  • All - I just got in touch with the Warden's office.  They told me they would be looking into it.  I also sent a email and spoke with the Southern Center of Human Rights.  I got there name off a News Article I read weeks ago about how Georgia State Prisons are horrible and they are under investigation already around cruelty to inmates and letting the prisoners run the prison.  They told me they have a really good relationship with the Mental Health Director with the Georgia Prison System and will reach out to them to let him know what is going on.  So, I can only pray the right things take place and they move him and get him the meds he needs.  Again, I'm located in Georgia so anyone who is in the south and is having issues with the prisons like Mental Health not being taken care of or abuse by guards need to contact them.  They are already pushing for Georgia Prisons to be investigated by the Federal government because of the fact of their practices.  Here is there website:  https://www.schr.org/

I appreciate all your comments and help.... This is the most difficult thing I have ever been through and yes my son needs to pay for his stupidity it doesn't mean he deserves what he is getting right now.
