  • It is good that we both did this for our boys, as hard as it was, because anything extra info they know before they go helps so much.  Mine was really lucky that he shared a cell there with an older experienced man.  That guy helped a lot! And being that they moved him in 2 1/2 weeks instead of the full 30 days I was able to breathe a lot sooner again.

Lee is the same level of security as where brett is and he has done really well and learned how to "fit in", as I guess we can say, pretty quickly.  And Lee has half the amount of guys as ours.

Your son will have already spoken to his counselor and filled out the paper work with your information and phone number.  As it may take a little more time to receive a letter from him you may be able to go ahead and set up a phone account.  The info is in the dept. of corrections website but the website for the phone calling system is:  connectnetwork.com

At this time I believe it's really expensive for out of state calls but someone in the government is trying to change the cost as we speak.  But if you can get a step ahead he will be able to call you sooner.  I hope this helps.

My mother is going to be having a procedure on Friday and I may have to go north to help her so if you write after wednesday I may not be able to answer back until late next week. Just thought I'd let you know sometimes we end up having questions and no one to answer them but I'm here for you and will answer any that I can. :)

  • Thank you both ... Yes Kathy I also watched everything I could about the place and wanted to be informed so I could tell ash what to expect. I made myself sick with worry but I'm glad I looked up the information because I think it helped him to know what to look for
I'm waiting to hear from him and I pray that he can now get a schedule and get something positive out of this. I haven't heard anything about Lee but I'm taking that as good news.
  • Great!  I'm so happy to hear this!  While I was showering before running my errands I could feel again how you've been feeling so I know the relief helps.  Jackson is an awful place.  Before my son was actually incarcerated, we didn't think he would be, stupid me watched a show on TV about Jackson.  After everything was done in court I was so sick and worried.  But somehow I guess that show gave me strength for his next step.  Mine is really funny too and so caring.  Just a great guy.  He's done super well and I'm really proud of him.  So many people out there could never understand.  Have a great day today, evening here, now especially that you got some good news.

  • Thank you Kathy, he's so funny too!! I just found out that he was transferred to Lee State Prison I'm so glad he is out of Jackson
  • Handsome boy you have!
